When a relative of yours is hospitalized and urgently needs some blood, we normally rely on blood banks or local institutions to source blood. But some times its hard to find blood donors. The search is made harder if the blood group is rare or the requirement is to get fresh blood. Open heart surgery usually requires fresh blood. The current blood donor databases are rendered useless when the patient needs blood urgently. To solve that problem we can use a location based service (LBS) enabled database.

Blood donors can register using their mobile numbers. The mobiles can be tracked using the latest LBS technologies. So whenever someone needs blood we can use the LBS search to find the closest donor. This will reduce the time required to get an willing donor and save lives.
