A GPS receiver is a device that can read signals from GPS satellites and calculate the exact location of the receiver. Most GPS receivers give their output in a particular format called NEMA. GPS receivers are used in various tracking and navigation applications. For developing GPS software and for testing purposes the GPS data is very much necessary.

The current developers are using a real GPS hardware for development purposes. But if a GPS data simulator can be made, such development can be made very much easy. The simulator must be able to provide data in TCP, UDP, serial formats. Also there must be provision to payback GPS information recorded from standard data files.
